All our therapists are Queer and Trans affirmative and Trauma informed

Guftagu Team

Sadaf Vidha

Founder, Psychodynamic, Art Based Therapist

I'm Sadaf, I'm a psychologist by profession. My qualifications are Masters in clinical psychology, and I've been practicing as a therapist since 2015. I've done certificate courses in arts based therapy, queer affirmative counseling practice and couple and family therapy. In terms of clients concerns, I've worked with anxiety, depression, self esteem issues, thought related issues, OCD, habit change, relationship concerns and trauma/abuse. I work with children as well as teens, along with adults. My approach is a mixture of post modern approaches, evidence based therapies and depth psychology. I would describe myself as a curious person. I love to envision a world where we are all respected and cared for, with our unique traits and struggles. I also happen to be from a conservative Muslim family and have experienced patriarchal pressures firsthand. I hope that this makes me the right person to understand the ground realities of a lot of people. Lastly, I have helped a lot of clients deal with a range of mental health issues and the environmental contributors of those. Thus, I envision a world of socially just mental healthcare and this is my attempt to make the field ethical and accessible for all.

Learn more about my approaches here. Don't know what to expect from therapy? Download this helpful guide.  I am currently on a break from one to one session work. I am open to groups, workshops, corporate consults, collaborations and teaching opportunities.

Aryan Somaiya

Co Founder - Therapist, Trainer, Psychodynamic Approach

Aryan Somaiya (he/him), Transman, holds a Master's degree in Psychology with specialization in Clinical Psychology. I believe that symptoms are a representation of the suffering and not anything to cure. As much as oppressive systems exists so is the personal and private experience of these systems. These experiences play in our relationships hence I believe the potential itself lies in relationship as therapist and client to bring corrective experiences, build tolerance make unbearable, bearable and build self by building bridge with self as a whole. This he believes helps in developing a space where one can be aware of choice and agency while experiencing different structures as well as engaging in the wideness of self.

As a therapist he is curious about what is unspoken, denied, unseen, implicit but present and the internal and external experiences of psyche. This I believes helps in developing a space where one can be aware of choice and agency while experiencing different structures as well as engaging in the wideness of self.

NAMISHA CHAMARIA

Executive Therapist , Intersectional, Systemic and Trauma-informed

I am Namisha Chamaria (she/her) located in Mumbai. I completed my Masters's in Applied Psychology (with a specialization in clinical and counselling psychology) from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. I like to use an eclectic approach to psychotherapy and incorporate elements from all schools based on the client’s needs. Additionally, I also like to incorporate intersectional, systemic and trauma-informed lenses in my practice. I believe that the clients are experts in their own lives which is why I strive to build a therapeutic relationship rooted in mutual respect, collaboration and equality. Mental health is personal and as a therapist, the permission given to enter and explore a client’s inner world is a privilege. As a therapist, I aim to help individuals in their journey of dissecting the nuances of their mental health and help them heal and grow.

Deviating from my professional self, I am an introvert who likes to read, go to the gym, sometimes dance and do calligraphy. I occasionally like to consume horror multimedia and vibe with my inner circle through memes and zoom calls.

Nijora Doley

Executive Therapist, Eclectic Approach, focusing on Post- Modern and Evidence-based Therapies

Hello! I am Nijora Doley (she/her) and I am currently based in Mumbai. I have completed my

Master’s in Applied Psychology (Specialization in Clinical and Counselling Psychology) from Tata

Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. I like working from an eclectic approach, focusing on post-

modern and evidence-based therapies. I also look forward to incorporating different lenses such as

Trauma-informed and Systemic lenses in my practice. My approach to therapy and understanding

human nature is grounded in the belief that people have complex stories that have rich meaning due to

the influence of one’s views and environment, and that it requires patience and time to unravel and

appreciate these stories. I hope to have a safe therapy space where the client and I can approach their

problems with mutual respect and collaboration to be able to find solutions that best work for them.

My goal is to not only help clients but to also grow as a therapist by unlearning and relearning with

the client.

Outside of work, I like to read books, watch Korean zombie movies and tv shows (and

other genres), and travel to different countries.

Seerat Malhotra

Executive Therapist, Humanistic, Strength Based Approach

Hey, I am Seerat Malhotra (she/her) based in Mumbai. I have completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology from Amity University, Mumbai. From a very young age, I knew that Psychology was my inner calling. Bearing that in mind, I have interned and volunteered at several organisations and NGOs trying to understand the intricacies of the human mind. My approach is predominantly Humanistic and I aim to create a safe space that holds acceptance and warmth for every individual. My core belief is that every person is the master of their own life and has the capability of reaching their truest potential.

I have been a Mental Health service user for four years and know how it feels to be on the other side of a therapeutic setting. To serve and help is a privilege, and as a therapist, my goal is to help enable growth and healing in people.

Aside from being a voracious reader of psychological content, I am a singer-songwriter, and an introvert who is fond of fur babies. I spend my time binge watching web series, relishing good food, dancing, and enjoying nature. I truly enjoy a blend of the virtual world and love for nature.
